A listing of export-controlled technologies by category under the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
- Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS)
Responsible for implementing the EAR. This site provides general background information and links to additional resources. - Department of Commerce, BIS, Export Control Basics

Provides links to the various sites that must be checked to ensure that items and information subject to the EAR are not "exported" to prohibited persons or entities. - Department of State, Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC)
Bureau of Political-Military Affairs, in accordance with the ITAR, is charged with controlling the export and temporary import of defense articles and defense services covered by the United States Munitions List (USML). Provides the complete text of the ITAR, including the USML, as well as links to regulatory updates and additional resources. - Department of the Treasury, Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC)
Administers and enforces economic and trade sanctions based on U.S. foreign policy and national security goals against targeted foreign countries, terrorists, international narcotics traffickers, and those engaged in activities related to the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.
